I am exhausted. I have just returned from my favourite conference, Sirens, and I am spent.
I will have posts to come on different parts of Sirens that got me thinking. In the meantime, I want to talk about tribes.
Tribes, in the modern sense, revolve around people who share similar interests and are connected to each other. In this day and age, it usually means a group of people connected through social media and the internet.
Sirens is my writing tribe. We are a group of people connected through our passion for writing and reading diverse speculative fiction. We learn and grow. We expect people to challenge us if we need it. We expect to grow every time we visit.
So now I am back from Sirens for another year and facing a huge life change; in less than a month, I will be a mother. I can feel the change already happening within me and I know that there are a lot of challenges to look forward to.
I am taking how centered I feel from Sirens and applying it to my life. I want to read more. I want to waste time on social media less. I want to write more. I want to be more in touch with myself and my passions and less bogged down being over-committed to inconsequential things.
Lots of words this week to explain that I am tired and can’t wait to recap some things that happened at Sirens.
